GO GO TEAM MINICAB!

The Mission
Simple really, drive from London to Mali…
Ok possibly not that simple, the drive will take Team Minicab from London through France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Mali and on to Sierra Leone. All 5,000+ miles in just 4 weeks, with no support vehicles, no real idea on what they're going to come across, oh, and of course the Sahara desert!

Why?
All for charity.
Team Minicab is made up of a close group of friends who have decided to take on this challenge of driving over 4,000 miles, through rough terrain. Traditionally this is left to professionals who have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on specially built vehicles and huge support teams, sponsors' logos are emblazoned everywhere and television crews hover overhead in helicopters as the cars and bikes zoom across the dunes. Locals look on bemused.
Not for Team minicab they will take two cars that will be handed over to local authorities in Mali to be auctioned off and the proceeds given to a number of local charities. But donations, sponsorship or any spare change they find on the way will be put together to help to solve some of the most serious global problems faced today such as Cancer Research, Cystic Fibrosis, Pratham, which are all close to the members of Team Minicab.
Team Minicab wants to make a difference, as they feel that they are very fortunate people with an abundance of choice in their daily lives. North West Africa is one of the most impoverished regions in the world and Team Minicab believe by taking the Mystery Machine they can bring a smile to the people of Africa.

How?
The target is to take two cars, preferably left hand drive, preferably diesel, preferably 4 wheel drive, preferably economical as well as being cheap... So the first car chosen by Team Minicab is a 2 wheel drive, 4ltr petrol guzzling Scooby Doo Mystery Machine - that's gotta be worth a donation on its own, surely! The plan is to not only raise money for the selected charities, but also provide an opportunity not just for those who are driving but everyone associated to send a message of hope and happiness to the people of Africa.
